June 2020 – We are replacing and expanding our vineyards during Winter 2020.
This year we will be planting 50 hectares of vineyards on our various farms and we tackle this big task during the winter months. This includes vineyards that we are replacing and new vineyards that we are planting on land that has not been previously planted. The planting programme is as follow:
LA Grape Farms – Avontuur: We are removing a block of Joybells and a block of Prime and replacing both of these with Ivory.
Leerkrans: We are replacing Joybells with Ivory.
Mokala: We are replacing Joybells with Arra29
Gamcaip: We are replacing a block of Thompsons with Sweet Globe (IFG10).
Weltevrede: We are replacing a block of Thompsons with Ivory.
PJ Dippenaar & Seuns – Zeekoesteek: This is the largest replanting & expansion on one farm for 2020 with a total of 28.65ha. Three blocks of Ralli are being replaced with Selma Peet and Merbein (for raisin production), a block of MIDNIGHT BEAUTY® will be replaced with Sweet Globe™ (IFG 10). In addition to these replacements, we are also expanding with new vineyards and are planting additional blocks of Sweet Globe™ and Ivory in this expansion.
